in Paris, part one.

Paris, France,
21 - 24 May, 2014.

Bonjour, Paree!

Alhamdulillah, I think it's my rezeki to be able to step on Paris ground once again, after 5 years! Last time I went with my younger sister and we visited Louvre Museum where Monalisa's potrait is exhibited, and some other museums, since my friends are not really into museums thingy (so taklah rasa terkilan sangat tak masuk museum, plus I don't have to spend money on that once again, fyuhh.. thanks rakan-rakan hehee!) so it was kind of visiting Paris with slightly different agendas; playing, shopping and DESSERT HUNTING! Yikes!

Day one.

The trip was supposed to be four of us including Fatin, but she suddenly made her last minute decision not going due to her overload homework, so at 6.55 a.m. Farah, Aina and I took high-speed SNCF train direct from Stuttgart and arrived at Paris l'Est at 10.35 a.m.

Our apartment is located at Château d'Eau, only one station from Gare de l'Est. Since the owner of the apartment allowed us to check in early, so we went straight to the apartment, had our lunch, check on the metro stations and destinations, and left for our first city tour after Dzuhur.

We decided to start with the historic catholic cathedral, Notre Dame, and walked to the most popular park in Paris, Jardin du Luxembourg, to Musée du Louvre, the world most visited museum, and Musée d'Orsay with its largest collection of impressionist and post-impressionist masterpieces in the world, then to Invalides, Champs-Elysées and finally to Eiffel Tower!

But before that, I need..

Spotted! Anak gajah is ordering her first Crêpe with nutella in Paris.
Cathédral Notre Dame.
Jardin du Luxembourg.

On our way to the next point, we spotted Paul and bought the macarons. Though Paul is well-known for its fluffy breads and pastries, macarons are still my priority. So Paul's, CHECKED!

Musée du Louvre.
Jardin des Tuileries.

Musée d'Orsay.

It was about 5 p.m. and rain poured down heavily, and we were all wet, so we decided to go back to the apartment and postponed our main mission, to the Eiffel Tower to the next day.

And the glimpse of the Eiffel Tower validated my presence there, I really was in Paris again.. so close yet so far. Aahhhhhh!
Eiffel Tower!

Till then. Au revoir!

P.s. New word learnt; Jardin means garden!

with love,
