My quote.

I need someone
who is

comfortable with
awkward silences

and doesn't mind
me not talking most
of the time.

P.s. Yes, because I am socially awkward, especially with guys. No wonder, kann? Mihmihmihh

turning 27 on the 27th.

Yet here I am again, today Oct 27, I am officially 27 years old, and I am single.

I haven’t freaked out about my age in a while. I know panicking about getting old is a bad idea, especially when panicking about getting old, and being single. I mean like, people my age are married, buying houses, having kids. And I'm still living my life like a 21 year old.

Many people asked me why I am still single. The answer is, I don’t know. My mom once told me, it is ok to be single since I am still a student. But then I realized, what if, I know it a bad thing to think of ‘what-if’ word, but really, what if I never thought of pursuing master studies, and still stuck in the office working hard from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. as junior engineer like I did a year ago? Am I going to meet my Mr. Right? Or am I still going to be single, like forever?

Speaking of which, everyone decent my age and older are already taken. My friends are mostly married, with kids or engaged. Cousins at my age are safely married or are getting married by next year. My younger sister is getting married end of this year. The feelings that I have missed the boat and there is not much left for me scares me the most.

People said, enjoy your single life while you can. I, in fact, enjoy it so much that once in a while I feel glad I am what I am now. I can go travel whenever I like, I read novels whenever I am free. I go shopping whenever it’s on sale, or not. I can do whatever I like without permission from anyone (other than my family). I really enjoy every bits of my single life. Really.

It just, sometimes, this kind of feelings occurred; like a few days ago on a fine night, yes I've realized that I've made the same thing; ruminating, prove on my 26th birthday post, guess I really have to get rid of this unhealthy habit! Oh and yes, I laid on my bed ruminating about this, and this time no joke, I tried to cry. I tried hard, but I couldn’t. I found no answer. But I know, I feel the emptiness inside. So I ended up performing wudhu, pray and sleep.

Well on the positive note, today, I turn a ripe old age of 27 and, as much as I'm not thrilled to be inching toward thirty, I'm pretty excited to look back on the past year and reflect on what an amazing, positive experience it was. There were, as there always will be, some tough times, but over all, I learn more and more and, that's one of the best highs life has to offer; looking back and realizing just how far you've come because of all that you've learned.

Ok I might sound like trying to change the content of my issue earlier; being single. Yes, I am, indeed. Rather, I believe that Allah has a flexible plan for each human being: a plan that Allah has written it all in al-Lawh al-Mahfooz. Positive, much? I am, and will always try to be one.

That’s all for this year. Happy 27th birthday to me.

“Know you not that Allah knows all that is in the heaven and on the earth? Verily, it is (all) in the Book (Al‑Lawh Al‑Mahfooz). Verily, that is easy for Allah." {Al-Hajj 22:70}

Eid Ul Adha 1434H.

Aidiladha on the second day of lecture. Lucky us the class started at 9.45 a.m., so we had some time to go to the mosque in Vaihingen with other Muslim friends from Indonesia. The bad news, there was no room for Muslimah to pray on that day!

Niat dah ada, gigih redah hujan dengan berbaju kurung. Apakan daya tak kesampaian.. itulah pengorbanan. Salam Aidiladha, salam perantauan ;)

Cannstatter Volksfest 2013, Bad Cannstatt.

 12 October 2013.

Well, well, well, here I am again with a late post. I promise this is the last abandoned one. I have difficult time to gather the photos since most of it are from my friend's phone, and to transfer the photos from phone to my lappie is more tedious!

Anyway, here is another festival celebrated by the Germans, lucky for us again, it is celebrated in Stuttgart, spanning a period over three weekends, from 27 September until 13 October this year. It is sometimes also referred to by foreign visitors as the Stuttgart Beer Festival although it is actually more of an autumnal fair.

What are they usually do during the festival? They wear their 'baju kurung' and 'baju melayu', have fun, dance, drink beers and get drunk. Since it is pretty scary thing to get trapped in the middle of drunk people, we brought our bodyguard together. Thank you, Wan! hehehee.

So that was the end of Volksfest. The next one would be next year, which I think we are no longer in Germany. So, no more cute baju kurung and baju melayu we can see on the street.. atleast not until the end of Winter season.

P.s. Sempat tahan akak ber'baju kurung' dekat depan train nak amik gambar sama-sama.. abang-abang ber'baju melayu' segan plak nak ajak.. sebab hottt sangat, nanti korang pun terpikat! :p

Ritter Sport SchokoMuseum, Waldenbuch.

 11 October 2013.

Hello peeps! The exam is over, so do German Intensive course for level A1. On our final day of class, we've made another excursion and this time with Frau Aida, to well-known chocolate Ritter Sport Chocolate Museum which is located at Waldenbuch, 25 minutes from city centre.

From the first to the third generation, the Ritter family business takes a look back a numerous historical milestones throughout its 100 years of history. Founded in Canstatt, Stuttgart in 1912, it is now the second largest chocolate bar manufacturer in Germany.

 .. and my preference packaging..
 Love!

Chocolate and me are so inseparable. I've bought all of these for less than 8 Euro, can you imagine that?? Definitely gonna be my choice for 'hantaran' for my wedding, which I don't know when it's going to happen hahaa. #ohmycalon!

Anyway to my fellow classmates in Group 3 A1, thank you for the great memories and good luck in everything. Don't forget to have fun while you can!

Esslingen.

30 September 2013.

Hello Leute! It's Sunday, and I am fully awake since Subuh, so I have done some house chores, for the second time this week, out of habit, alone, cause all my German housemates probably went back home to celebrate Folk Festival with their family and friends. It's weekend afterall!

Yesterday we've planned to go and have a look of what Folk Festival is all about, since we saw couple of times the Germans wore their tradition costumes 'baju kurung' and 'baju melayu' of their versions everywhere. The girls in skirts and the boys in.. I don't know what they called it, I better check it with my teacher, but seriously, 'They look so damn hot!' bak kata my housemate, Julia. Couldn't agree more with you, Julia! hahaa. Unfortunately, it was raining cats and dogs. So our plan is postponed to next week, perhaps. InsyaAllah..

So last Thursday, my German teacher, Herr Peter brought the students to Esslingen for excursion, about 20 minutes from the city. Esslingen am Neckar is a city in the Stuttgart Region of Baden-Württemberg in southern Germany, capital of the District of Esslingen as well as the largest city in the district. Through archaeological finds made in what is now the city of Esslingen there is evidence of permanent settlement since the Neolithic Stone Age. Traces of human settlement found at the site of the city church date back to around 1000 B.C.

So Herr Peter introduced us with the history of Esslingen, and mentioned about how they built the buildings, how different types of house belonged to different classes of people, and how they ruled the district and what not.

It was 9 degrees that day. Very cloudy and windy, but we had a lot of fun!

So, that was all for the excursion. I am so in love with this place! My leg were in pain for climbing the i-don't-know-how-many-steps stairs which I believe hundreds, and guess what, in such a cold weather, finally I had sweat through my shirt. Hahahaa.. pretty good exercise, huh?

Till my next post!

P.s. There are 2 group photos with watermark on it, credits to my classmate, Sadat.. and the rest without watermark are mine. Should I put it too? Nahh.. hehee
